Austin Metcalf’s father swatted hours after he’s booted from Karmelo Anthony presser

The latest example of justice being flipped on its head in post-Obama America took place in Texas this week, when Austin Metcalf’s father was swatted.

The injustice came just a few hours after Jeff Metcalf was kicked out of an odd press conference being held by the family of Karmelo Anthony, the black teen who fatally stabbed his son in the heart last week at a Frisco track meet.

The Frisco Police Department confirmed that officers responded to a report of a gunshot at the Metcalf residence, according to WFAA. Metcalf told the affiliate nobody was home at the time, though he arrived 5 minutes later.

The Anthony family, represented by the Next Generation Action Network, has embarked on a campaign to paint themselves, to include the son who reportedly admitted to police that he killed the white teen, as victims. Early dividends include getting Karmelo released from jail after his bond was reduced from $1 million to $250,000, AND a GiveSendGo campaign, which has raised nearly $500,000 as of this writing.

Dominique Alexander, the Next Generation Action Network’s president, verbally attacked Jeff Metcalf at the press conference.

“All I’m going to say so it don’t be asked later, is that was disrespectful and just shows you all the character,” Alexander said. “He was not invited. He knows that it’s inappropriate to be near this family. But he did it. And so I say to people, actions speak louder than words.”

“What we’ve seen at the beginning of this press conference, of [the] father being at this press conference, these are my words, don’t call me about it, is a disrespect to the dignity of his son,” he added.

Kayla Hays, the mother of Karmelo Anthony, added credence to the victim mentality.

“In the wake of this tragic incident, our family has been under attack. Whatever you think happened between Carmelo and the Metcalf boy — my three other children, my husband and I — didn’t do anything to deserve to be threatened, harassed and lied about,” Hays said at the press conference.

“The lies and false accusations that have been said about us have been overwhelming and the lies put our family in danger,” she added.

The Anthony family moved into a $900,000 home in a gated community in Frisco and bought a new car after Karmelo was released on bond, according to the New York Post, but his mother insisted they’ve yet to access the donated funds.

The swatting incident was summed up well by a social media user, who posted on X: “This isn’t just injustice, it’s psychological warfare. A grieving parent treated like a villain, while the killer’s family plays the victim. This is what happens when activism overrides morality. When criminals get fundraisers, and fathers get police at their door.”

Here’s a quick sampling of other responses to the story, as seen on X:
