The Ford Motor Company announced Friday on social media that they would be temporarily offering American buyers employee discount prices on a number of their recent model vehicles.

The manufacturer offered the discounted prices on the same day President Donald Trump’s 25 percent tariffs on foreign vehicles took effect, CBS News reported.

“We’re committed to America. That’s why Ford and Lincoln are offering employee pricing to everyone in the U.S. The Ford Motor Company. From America, For America,” Ford Motor Company tweeted. “Disclaimer: Dealer participation is discretionary. Limited US states only. The company’s post listed the vehicles that the discount applied to. The company announced the deal and provided more details on their website. “We understand that these are uncertain times for many Americans,” Ford told CBS News. “Whether it’s navigating the complexities of a changing economy or simply needing a reliable vehicle for your family, we want to help.”

“Today, we’re proud to announce a new U.S. initiative that’s more than just a promotion. It’s a handshake deal with every American,” Ford described the offer to Fox Business. The company cited their 121-year history of operating as a U.S. manufacturer. Trump promoted the automobile company on Truth by sharing one of their ads. “A Great Ad by FORD!” he wrote.

The Trump administration is also set to impose a tariff on imported car parts on May 5, Car and Driver reported.
