Child Exposed to Naked Man in Ladies Room—YMCA Stands Down [WATCH]

A mother in North Kansas City, Missouri, reported a disturbing incident involving a naked male with exposed genitals inside the women’s locker room at the YMCA, an area she had entered with her 7-year-old daughter following swimming lessons.

As reported by The Blaze, the event occurred on April 12, 2025, and is now under investigation by local authorities.

According to WDAF-TV, the mother—who has chosen to remain anonymous to protect her family’s identity—said she and her daughter had just finished a swim class at the North Kansas City YMCA and were preparing to change in the women’s locker room when the incident took place.

The mother told the outlet she heard a male voice while in the locker room and, upon exiting a stall with her daughter, encountered a naked individual with clearly visible male genitalia.

When she asked the person why he was in the women’s facility, she said he responded with:

“Honey, I’m a woman.”

Alarmed, the mother said she immediately grabbed her daughter, and they both ran from the locker room.

“This is not a case of transitional status. This is an issue of somebody showing their body parts to my child in a room where she should be safe from such things.”

Angela Bush, a YMCA member and mother of an 11-year-old, expressed concern after learning of the report.

“My 11-year-old does use that locker room, especially after we go to the pool,. It’s definitely shocking and something we’ll be looking out for a little bit more.”

The YMCA of Greater Kansas City released a statement confirming that it was aware of the incident and that an investigation is underway.

“We continue to investigate the incident and are unable to provide further details at this time,” the statement said.

“We also are cooperating with the North Kansas City Police Department as they conduct their investigation. The safety and well-being of all of our members is a priority, and we take this concern seriously.”

The organization also reiterated its locker room policy:

“We follow all state and local laws, and individuals are allowed to use the locker room or restroom that they identify with.”

The YMCA added that it provides four private universal changing rooms for members who prefer additional privacy and that its member handbook instructs patrons to remain covered with a towel, wrap, or clothing at all times.

The Clay County Prosecutor’s Office is reportedly also involved in the ongoing review of the April 12 incident. The North Kansas City Police Department confirmed that a report of indecent exposure was filed and that the case remains under investigation.
