‘Bill Maher is going to need a security detail’ after giving his honest review of President Trump at dinner

Comedy and candor collided as Bill Maher contrasted President Donald Trump with Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton after their shared dinner demonstrated “why the Democrats lose.”

Following the Kid Rock-coordinated bread breaking at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the host of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” had yet to relent on letting Trump Derangement Syndrome sufferers down.

Having already complimented the GOP leader a number of times following their White House dinner, Maher added a new log to fuel the fiery rage from the left as he referred to Trump as a “real person,” unlike Obama and Clinton.

As he hosted Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on the “Club Random” podcast, Maher moved on from a theological discussion to his “Nixon to China” moment with Trump and made clear, “I voted for Obama. I voted for Clinton. But the idea that I could talk to them as freely as I felt this conversation was going is emblematic, to me, of why the Democrats lose the elections.”

“Because they just don’t feel that this is like a real person,” added the host, contrasting the approachability of Trump. “And I know it’s so weird to say that about Donald Trump, who I’ve said a jillion times is, you know, a whiny little b*tch. I mean, I could go through my greatest hits of like insults.”

Then came the part no one saw coming.

Maher acknowledged his dinner with President Trump—and made it clear he wasn’t going to pretend it was a bad thing.

That’s when he dropped the line about Trump that will have Democrats in shambles:

“But this was about getting past that and maybe seeing that if we met in person, we don’t hate each other as much — and we don’t — and I’m sorry, I’m not gonna pretend that’s a bad thing,” expressed the comedian who maintained the president was doing “terrible things.”

Maher’s commentary on the Trump meeting followed Kid Rock’s reflections on the gathering, which included the surprise that the sharp-tongued pundit had not previously been privy to a tour of the White House.

“The president was gracious. He took us up to the private residence, we saw the Gettysburg Address in the Lincoln bedroom,” the rocker recounted to the hosts of “Fox & Friends” the next day. “And I was like, you’ve never been here, Bill? I was like, how about this, President Trump extending this olive branch. And we talked about things we had in common, you know, ending wokeness … securing the border. The president was asking him what he thought about policy going on with Iran and Israel and things. It blew my mind. I was very proud.”

Speaking on “Real Time,” Maher also drew a contrast between Trump in private and the man in public who routinely sparked leftist meltdowns.

“A crazy person doesn’t live in the White House. A person who plays a crazy person on TV a lot lives there, which I know is f*cked up, but it’s not as f*cked up as I thought it was,” he told his audience.

While Maher and Kirk remained cordial in their search for common ground during the interview, split reactions were perhaps best summed up by the comment, “When Bill Maher’s saying Trump feels more real than Democrats, you know the mask has slipped. Turns out authenticity beats identity politics every time.”
