Pelosi, Dems rally for alleged MS-13 gang member after crickets for Laken Riley

California Rep. Nancy Pelosi proved her Democratic Party’s priorities with a statement on an alleged MS-13 gang member compared to a remark worse than silence regarding a murdered American.

Amid the wall-throwing desperation to find any avenue of attack against President Donald Trump and his administration, what evidently stuck was defending an illegal alien. As such, the former speaker of the House and Democratic leader showed greater concern for a visiting dignitary referring to one of his own citizens as a “terrorist” than she did about the murder of Laken Riley at the hands of an illegal alien.

During President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador’s visit to the Oval Office with Trump, he was asked about the legal dispute attempting to see an alleged MS-13 member, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, sent back to the United States following deportation.

Pelosi bristled at Bukele’s response as Trump listened, claiming on X, “In the Oval Office, President Trump sat in silence as El Salvadoran President Bukele smeared Kilmar Abrego Garcia as a ‘terrorist.’ SCOTUS ordered his return–but instead, the Trump Administration is defying the law, disappearing people and yielding to a fellow tyrant at the expense of the victim’s family.”

Among the quick rebukes of Pelosi, Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt (R) wrote, “Did any of these people put out statements like this about Laken Riley? Or does their empathy only extend to criminal illegal aliens?”

During Bukele’s White House visit, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins asked about Abrego Garcia, who was being held at the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT) in El Salvador, and whether he would abide by judicial attempts to see the deported prisoner brought back to the United States.

“Well, I suppose you’re not suggesting that I smuggle a terrorist into the United States, right? How can I smuggle — how can I return him to the United States? Like, I smuggle him into the United States … Of course I’m not going to do it. The question is preposterous,” the Salvadoran president responded.

When a follow-up question posited the idea of Abrego Garcia being released into El Salvador, Bukele batted that down as well, contending, “I mean, we’re not very fond of releasing terrorists into our country. We just turned the murder capital of the world into the safest country of the western hemisphere, and you want us to go back into releasing criminals so we can go back to being the murder capital of the world? That’s — that’s not going to happen.”

At a time when many suggest that the Democratic Party’s open border policies are an attempt to import voters, especially following the resounding opposition to the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act that, if enacted, would require proof of citizenship to register to vote, social media users were happy to demonstrate that the most readily apparent public commentary from Pelosi on the murder of 22-year-old Georgia nursing student Laken Riley had been griping over then-President Joe Biden referring to the murderer, Venezuelan José Antonio Ibarra, as “illegal.”

“Pelosi was more upset about Biden calling Laken Riley’s k*ller an ‘illegal’ than she ever was about Laken Riley,” wrote Western Lensman, who shared the lawmaker’s appearance on CNN where she’d insisted, “He should have said ‘undocumented.’”

That video was shared over a screenshot of a search for “Laken Riley” that came back with no results on Pelosi’s X account, fueling further backlash against the seemingly “illegals first” party.
