Trump rips Republicans ‘grandstanding’ on budget

President Trump urged Republicans to support and pass the budget resolution this week, telling them to “stop grandstanding.”

Speaking at the National Republican Congressional Committee dinner Tuesday evening, Mr. Trump called on House conservatives to get on board.

“They have to do this. We have to get there,” he said. “I think we are there. We had a great meeting today.”

“But just in case there are a couple of Republicans out there, you just gotta get there. Close your eyes and get there. It’s a phenomenal bill. Stop grandstanding. Just stop grandstanding,” he said.

His comments come after he met with House Republicans, including Speaker Mike Johnson, Louisiana Republican, at the White House to get more party members on board with the budget.

Republicans can’t afford to lose more than three votes on the budget, and there still seems to be more than three that oppose the bill, even after the meeting.
