ESPN’s Jay Williams Compares Lakers’ Luka Doncic And Trump’s Stock Market In Not-So-Witty Comments

So random and so cringe…

ESPN analyst Jay Williams is under the belief that the performance from Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic is going downhill, and he even randomly compared it to President Donald Trump‘s stock market.

Since Trump was inaugurated as president, the stock market has experienced some dipping, and after going through a rough patch the past few days, it’s currently under the 40,000 mark.

The markets took a major hit amid the tariffs from Trump during a day he branded “Liberation Day.” (RELATED: Patrick Mahomes’ Mother Gives Simple Reaction To Explain Glory Of Visiting White House)

Now let’s take things to Los Angeles where Doncic hasn’t really thrived with the Lakers despite them being playoff contenders. Since the blockbuster trade from the Dallas Mavericks, Doncic has only been hitting 41.5% of his shots, a 6.5% decline from when he was a Mav. In the past five games, he’s only been hitting 25% from the three-point line.

Well, Williams is highly concerned, so concerned that he used Trump and the current stock market woes to make his point. But it was so random and so poorly done, it was straight up cringe.

“Not only did the stock market take a hit with these tariffs, but Luka’s stock took a major hit,” said Williams on ESPN’s “Get Up.” “This is a concerning issue – if you’re gonna be a liability on the defensive end, you need to be prolific on the offensive end. His last five games, he’s been shooting below 50% from the field, and he’s one of the least efficient volume shooters since he’s joined the Lakers.”
