Former President Barack Obama attacked President Donald Trump with smears during a speech this Thursday to college students.
Speaking at Hamilton College, he portrayed Trump as some sort of dictator whose administration has been unjustly targeting universities and law firms with lawfare.
“I’m … deeply concerned with a federal government that threatens universities if they don’t give up students who are exercising their right to free speech,” he began.
“I am more troubled by the idea that a White House can say to law firms, ‘If you represent parties that we don’t like, we’re going to pull all our business or bar you from representing people effectively.’ That kind of behavior is contrary to the basic compact we have as Americans,” he added.

Obama: Imagine if I had done any of this. Imagine if I had pulled Fox News’ credentials from the White House press corps. Imagine if I had said to law firms that were representing parties that were upset with policies my administration had initiated, that you will not be allowed… pic.twitter.com/htecKDCbyi

“Imagine if I had done any of this,” Obama continued. “I just want to be clear about this. Imagine if I had pulled Fox News’ credentials from the White House press corps. You’re laughing, but this is what’s happening. Imagine if I had said to law firms that were representing parties that were upset with policies my administration had initiated, that you will not be allowed into government buildings.”
“We will punish you economically for dissenting from the Affordable Care Act or the Iran deal. We will ferret out students who protest against my policies. It’s unimaginable that the same parties that are silent now would have tolerated behavior like that from me, or a whole bunch of my predecessors,” he concluded.
But everything Obama said was an exaggeration. For example, Trump has not targeted law firms for simply “representing parties that were upset with policies [his] administration had initiated.”
Rather, his administration has justifiably gone after disgraced law firms like Perkins Coie, which was responsible for laundering the Russian collusion delusion hoax and conspiracy, as well as the Alfa Bank smear.
Similarly, Trump has not attacked universities over the actions of students who were just “exercising their right to free speech.” Rather, his administration has gone after universities that have allowed oftentimes violent, unhinged antisemites to terrorize Jewish students.

The exaggerations weren’t the only thing wrong with Obama’s remarks. Critics say that there’s also all the hypocrisy to consider.
“The Obama administration weaponized the IRS against conservatives, spied on a Fox News journalist, sued nuns over the birth control mandate in the ACA, spied on Trump, lied to Americans about Benghazi, armed cartels resulting in the death of a Border Patrol agent, and his CIA spied on congress,” one critic noted on Twitter/X.
Fact-check: TRUE.

Bathhouse Barry has chutzpah even thinking this, let alone saying it. He has a laundry list a mile long of offenses against the American people.

Democrats weaponized government, then act shocked and broken when they are called-out about it and suffer consequences.
Save your fake tears and regrets for someone who believes a single word you say Barry.
I don’t.

Obama was the most divisive president in US history and the most corrupt.
He’s projecting now like always.
Also, the American people voted for President Trump and everything he’s doing now.
If Obama had done it then maybe Trump never would’ve ran for POTUS.

During Obama’s remarks at Hamilton College, he also urged students to fight back and “sacrifice” to “fix” the damage Trump has allegedly been doing to the country.
“Let me just close this portion of my remarks by saying it is up to all of us to fix this,” he said. “It’s not going to be because somebody comes and saves you. The most important office in this democracy is the citizen, the ordinary person who says, no, that’s not right. I do think one of the reasons that our commitment to democratic ideals has eroded is that we got pretty comfortable and complacent.”
“It has been easy during most of our lifetimes to say you are a progressive or say you are for social justice or say you’re for free speech and not have to pay a price for it. Now we’re at one of those moments where, you know what? It’s not enough just to say you’re for something; you may actually have to do something and possibly sacrifice a little bit,” he added.
