INSIDER: The great tariff temper tantrum begins

Views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author.

The globalist rats who decimated the American dream by offshoring production for decades and funneling Main Street’s wealth to Wall Street would like a word about President Donald J. Trump’s tariffs.

Trump’s bold “Liberation Day” move to end the exploitation of America through one-sided “free trade” by imposing tariffs that could be a boon for domestic manufacturing jobs triggered establishment hysteria with hyperbolic media reports, angry squealing from Democrats and many Republicans, and a panicky reaction from Wall Street.

There were dire predictions of a global economic crisis and inflation – which the media and Democrats conveniently ignored for the entirety of the Biden regime – as Trump followed through on his pledge to use tariffs to reset the trade relationship between America and foreigners who have disproportionately benefitted from globalization and the hollowing out of domestic industries that actually make something instead of moving money around, cashing in on sickness and profiting off of cheap Chinese junk and other foreign imports.

Wall Street’s senator and his crooked Democrat friends had some thoughts.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer with Big Pharma whore Liz Warren hanging over his shoulder like a gargoyle held a press conference to rail against Trump and demagogue about inflation, which they had little concern about when a Democrat was in the White House.

Republicans got in on the America-last action too with the Mitch McConnell mob and Rand Paul joining Democrats to reject Trump’s tariffs on Canada with Chuck Grassley and another Democrat later rolling out legislation to undermine Trump’s tariff power.

Grassley, a man whose self-serving investigations of Deep State malefactors grabbed headlines in conservative media but ultimately all resulted in bupkis, showed whose side he’s really on, and like much of Congress, it’s not with American workers. Watch Grassley and others move mountains now that their gravy train is threatened with being derailed. Fortunately, Trump will veto it if it makes it to his desk.

The jackleg politicians may have been insufferable, but the media was even worse, hyperventilating about an imminent doomsday and developing a sudden and insincere concern for workers, one that they never had when they mostly cheered on the millions of jobs and thousands of businesses that were destroyed during COVID.

But the propaganda is getting more ridiculous, and the focus on two remote Australian islands mostly inhabited by penguins to mock Trump only came across as pathetic and demonstrates the diminished power of the legacy media which is still licking its wounds after the “Signalgate” dud.

The Wall Street Journal was at the forefront of pushing the globalism that gutted U.S. manufacturing as was the rest of the corrupt media.

What do they all really fear?

Number one, that their grifting and looting days will be over. But even more terrifying is that the American people will soon realize that all of that malarkey about globalism and free trade has been a big fat lie.

Trump has been making that point for decades.

“In the coming days, there will be complaints from the globalists and the outsourcers and special interests and the fake news—always. The fake news will always complain, but never forget—every prediction our opponents made about trade for the last 30 years has been proven totally wrong,” Trump said after announcing his tariffs, and once again, he’s right.
