The disturbing footage, released by Lumberton Police, captures the moment officers arrived at LaPlaca’s home around 5:40 p.m. on March 17.

They were responding to a 911 call from a concerned resident who had witnessed her allegedly weaving through the streets like she was auditioning for a demolition derby. The Democrat mayor had just picked up her child from daycare.

As LaPlaca stepped out of her BMW, officers immediately noticed something was off. She struggled to remove her toddler from the car seat and promptly lost her balance, staggering back into the vehicle. One officer asked if she was okay.
