President Trump on Wednesday proclaimed that his administration is ending the Democrats’ war on women.
Mr. Trump, joined by female members of Congress at the White House as he announced the launch of a Republican Women’s Caucus, said, “Today and every day, America’s daughters ignite the dreams and develop the character of our next generation.”
“For four long years, we had an administration that tried to abolish the very concept of womanhood and replace it with radical gender ideology,” Mr. Trump said.
“They destroyed women’s spaces and even tried to replace the word ‘mother’ with the term ‘birther person.’ A mother became a birther person. What’s that all about?”
Mr. Trump then mocked Democrats for wondering why they lost the last election, and recalled seeing a Democrat on television earlier in the day arguing for why men should play in women’s sports.
“He hasn’t given that up yet. He was fighting like crazy. I said, ‘This guy is going to lose. He’s going to lose badly.’ The whole party is still into that,” he said.
“They haven’t learned and we don’t want them to learn,” the president said. “Frankly, we want them to keep fighting. Let’s not tell them. Under the Trump administration, we’re ending the Marxist war on women…protecting women’s rights, defending women’s dignity and standing up for the American moms and daughters — so many are represented here.”
The president has issued a series of executive orders over the past few weeks that include declaring only two genders existed, rescinding all funds from educational institutions that allow males to compete in female athletic programs and banning diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives throughout the federal government.
Mr. Trump named and lauded female members of his administration as well as female lawmakers whom he said are carrying out his agenda, including White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, former White House counselor Alina Habba, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Education Secretary Linda McMahon and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins.
The president declared in an executive order March as Women’s History Month.
“Their contributions to America’s excellence are worthy of praise and recognition, now and forever,” the order stated.
