Accused illegal alien child rapists freed on ‘ridiculously low’ bail, ICE detainers ignored in Massachusetts

A local Massachusetts news station investigated whether illegal immigrants charged with violent crimes are being released back into the community.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu vowed to defy President Trump’s immigration policy even as violent criminals were reportedly being released by law enforcement. Border czar Tom Homan had blasted Boston officials including Police Commissioner Michael Cox last month, noting nine cases where illegal aliens accused of child rape who had ICE detainers were released.

CBS News local affiliate WBZ-TV decided to look into the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) press releases in Massachusetts from January to the present.

While WBZ found “only one” press release claimed Boston Police released someone wanted by ICE, the report noted the others indicated the individuals wanted by ICE “were released from jails or courts.”

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin broke down the details in a post on X, noting that ICE detainers were ignored in cases including on of a Guatemalan charged with three counts of aggravated child rape who was released on $7,500 bail.

Jose Fernando-Perez was arrested by ICE in Framingham in February and was arraigned on three counts of rape of a child by force and three counts of aggravated rape of a child in August 2022.

“WBZ called the court and found that he posted a $7500 bail and was released with an order to stay in his home in October, 2022,” the outlet noted.

According to WBZ:

Stivenson Omar Perez-Ajtzalan was arraigned in Lawrence District Court arraigned Perez Dec. 20, 2024, on felony charges of aggravated rape of a child with a ten-year age difference, according to an ICE press release. WBZ learned that he posted his $7500 bail and was released with a GPS monitoring device. He was arrested by ICE in January.

Juan Alberto Rodezno-Marin was arraigned in Middlesex Superior Court in March, 2023 for indecent assault and battery in a person over 15, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, masked armed robbery, and assault to rape. He was released on personal recognizance with a GPS monitoring device in December 2024 and arrested by ICE in January.

The report noted that two inmates at the Worcester County Jail charged with cocaine and fentanyl trafficking were bailed out before ICE arrived.

“Massachusetts law prevents any law enforcement from holding someone based solely on their immigration status,” WBZ noted as courts are seen are setting low or no bail.

Social media users expressed their outrage over the latest.
