It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s … Rodney Peete?!
Max Muncy, a third baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers, ran over to the stands in an attempt to catch a foul ball during the Wednesday contest against the Chicago Cubs in the Tokyo Series, but it ended up getting stolen. During sixth inning action while Cubs left fielder Ian Happ was up to bat, Muncy had to stretch himself while on top of the protective netting, and when he got to that point, he had his glove out to make the catch. But the ball ended up getting snatched by a fan … a fan sporting a Dodgers sweater … a fan sporting a Dodgers sweater who is … Rodney Peete?
Spending 16 seasons in the NFL as a quarterback, Peete threw balls more than caught them in his playing days, but his catch in the Tokyo Dome is a clear reminder that he was also a baseball star when he was younger.
