The Democratic Party is failing on almost every front, including its push for gun control and confiscation. Yet, instead of changing tack, left-wing elites offered up 25-year-old anti-gun extremist David Hogg as the new Democratic Party co-chair, doubling down on the Left’s assault on the Second Amendment. That was a serious mistake that conservatives would be wise to take advantage of with a new gun owners’ bill of rights.

One of the 2024 election’s underreported stories is how it put conservatives in the strongest position in the fight over gun rights since President Obama launched his crusade 15 years ago. But change won’t come through Republican complacency. In this golden era of Republican control, lawmakers must identify and address the key weaknesses Democrats have created in their attack against the Second Amendment and safeguard constitutional freedoms permanently — and my new deep-dive report shows how.

Gun policy has become so politicized that many Americans — and, sadly, many lawmakers — have lost sight of the true purpose of the Second Amendment. Our forefathers freed this nation from tyranny through grit and self-determination, recognizing the absolute necessity of enshrining both the right to self-defense and the right to resist oppression. The Second Amendment stands as the foundation of our freedom, defining America as a beacon of liberty on the world stage. For years, the Left dominated discourse about firearms, flipping the script with media campaigns against “gun violence” threatening our communities. Yet that all-out assault had the opposite effect, as recent polling shows — opening millions of Americans’ eyes to the Left’s true goal of gun confiscation as practiced in Britain and Australia.

What people realize is that gun control was never about saving children or ensuring safety. The final straw for many was Kamala Harris’s extreme beliefs and the complete federal abuse Americans suffered under the Biden administration. (RELATED: For Progressives, There Are No Good Guys With Guns)

Harris worked to separate herself from her past, but her comments as California attorney general and San Francisco district attorney revealed her true policy preferences. Without blinking an eye, she would install gun confiscation efforts and enter Americans’ homes to ensure compliance — she said so herself, multiple times.

The Biden administration proved the gun control lobby’s high-water mark. Biden’s complete abuse of the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) was a picture of a lawless federal agency weaponized against lawful gun owners nationwide. (RELATED: Missing the Target on Bump Stocks)

When Congress blocked Biden’s initiatives, the ATF rewrote rules without congressional approval.

As a result, millions of Americans were labeled “firearm dealers,” gun store shutdowns hit a 16-year high, and Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport Director Brian Malinowski was murdered in cold blood during a botched ATF raid.

It’s hard for Americans — even moderates who support mild gun regulations — to sit back and accept the actions of a leftist regime that prioritizes its own end goals over the constitutionally enshrined rights of the American people. Thankfully, Americans are signaling that they have had enough.

Recent polling shows 64 percent of Americans are strongly or somewhat in favor of the Second Amendment and the individual right to bear arms, according to a 2024 Marquette University Law School poll.

In 2018, 67 percent of Americans wanted stricter gun laws, and in 2013, 54 percent favored stricter gun laws.

My exposé traces how this incredible transformation took place over the last decade-and-a-half, blocked only by the U.S. Supreme Court and a handful of pro-gun advocacy groups.

Key court rulings like Heller and Bruen reaffirmed the Second Amendment and clarified every American’s individual right to carry a firearm. As a result, numerous restrictive laws in blue states faced immediate legal challenges. Rather than revising or repealing these laws to align with Supreme Court rulings, Democratic lawyers attempted to defend them by citing racist laws from the 1800s that once barred Black Americans and Catholics from owning firearms.

This offensive strategy only reinforced public perception that the Left would go to any length to restrict firearm ownership.

The Obama-era path of gun control was dark, but the overreach of the gun control lobby has ironically returned gun policy to conservatives. President Trump has made good on many of his campaign promises, already abolishing the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention — criticized by Second Amendment advocates as a policy backdoor for the anti-gun lobby.

He also instructed U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi through executive order to fully review all gun laws, legal cases, and decisions to further protect Second Amendment rights.

But all Republican lawmakers must now take up the mantle of protecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans by implementing a Gun Owners’ Bill of Rights.

Lawmakers must go on the offensive — rolling back unconstitutional restrictions, expanding constitutional carry, challenging restrictive laws in court, strengthening state preemption laws, blocking red flag laws, and defunding anti-gun bureaucracies. The battle has only begun.
