- “I’m really pleased to say we have thousands of new jobs into the economy”. Unemployment for those aged 16 and over climbed to 4.4% in Q4, up 0.1% on Q3 and up 0.5% on the year. Hardly a jobs boom under Starmer…
- “Wages are going up higher than prices, that’s the first in a long time that has happened”. Wages have been increasing above inflation since June 2023. Not exactly a Labour win then…
- “One in eight of 16–24-year-olds were not in education, employment or training at the time of the election.” The percentage of 16–24-year-olds not in education, employment, or training has actually risen from 12.4% in April-June 2024 to 13.4% now. Up since Labour took office…
