Golf legend Phil Mickelson has voiced his support for Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), commending their efforts to improve fiscal responsibility in the United States.

The three-time Masters champion took to X on Tuesday to express his appreciation for Musk’s work with the Trump administration, sharing a clip of Musk’s recent interview on Fox Business Network.

“It’s incredibly kind and generous of Elon Musk to help America become fiscally responsible. We all owe him a huge debt of gratitude. Nicola Tesla was unappreciated while he was alive despite his numerous contributions to humanity. I hope Elon is shown the appreciation he deserves in his lifetime,” Mickelson wrote.

During the Fox Business interview, Musk spoke with host Larry Kudlow about his efforts to streamline government operations and reduce waste.

“I’m just here trying to make the government more efficient. Eliminate waste and fraud, and so far we are making good progress, actually. Our savings so far exceed $4 billion a day,” Musk said.

Mickelson has previously voiced support for President Donald Trump, praising him for his contributions to the game of golf.

In 2023, Mickelson stated that Trump had done much to “help better golf” and said he appreciated “what he has done to promote the game of golf.”

Trump has also spoken highly of Mickelson over the years. In 2018, during his first term, Trump praised the golfer at a Salute to Service Dinner, calling Mickelson “incredible” and a “great gentleman.”

Musk’s involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency has gained widespread attention as he continues to push for financial accountability in Washington.
